Last week I sat across from a woman I would have loved to welcome to PURE. We had arranged to meet in a small café. She was there before me, her cappuccino already half finished, and she smiled at me as if we had known each other for years. These are my favourite conversations. Within a few minutes you can tell whether someone has style or is merely wearing it.
She had it.
We talked about books, about her profession, and about a weekend in Lisbon she described so vividly that I could almost taste the wine. At some point I asked the question I ask every lady. She answered honestly: on the side, she is active on two platforms, and now and then she takes Jobs from a friend of hers.
I respect her for not glossing over anything. And still, I said no.
It had little to do with her as a person. It is about a promise I make to our guests. Anyone who meets a lady through PURE should be certain he won't find her face two clicks away on another site. And that the woman opening the hotel door for him hasn't squeezed this evening in between two others. Discretion begins with us, long before a guest picks up the phone.
Just as important to me: PURE must never be the main income for any of my ladies. When you depend on something, it becomes harder to say no, and I want every woman with us to be free to say no at any time. A woman who chooses an evening is a different companion from one who needs it. You can feel that. Our guests feel it too.
She nodded, a little disappointed yet understanding. We spent another half hour talking about entirely different things. As we said goodbye, she mentioned she might get in touch again if anything changes for her. I hope she does.
Dear ladies, if you are reading this and wondering whether you would fit in with us: a no from me is never a judgement of you. It is the boundary that makes PURE what it is. Those who share it will find guests who come to us for exactly that reason, and an agency that stands behind them.
*Discreetly yours,***Lena**
