Before the ring bells...-Ariana

There is a moment no gentleman ever gets to see: the seconds before he opens the door. I asked Ariana what goes through her mind, from the first glance at the office clock to the last breath before the bell. Her answers made me smile. They are more honest than most would expect, and warmer than I could have put it myself. Patrice answered the same questions in a completely different tone: "Before the Doorbell Rings: Calm, in Black". Two ladies, two paths to the same door. Here is Ariana's.
The Day
My day starts quite ordinarily, at the office, between emails, meetings and small tasks. And yet I keep catching myself smiling because I'm thinking about the evening. It's lovely to look forward to something special that lifts me out of everyday life for a few hours.
The Feeling
Anticipation, curiosity and a little bit of nervousness. I think that's part of it. The closer the evening gets, and the longer I take getting ready, the more it tingles.
The Preparation
I take my time. A lovely shower, my favourite music, a few quiet minutes and, of course, my favourite perfume. I enjoy getting ready for a special evening without any rush.
The Outfit
I like feminine, elegant pieces that don't feel overdone. What matters is that I feel comfortable and find myself beautiful. Then I wear it with confidence and am entirely myself.
The Thoughts
On my way, I wonder how the evening will be and whether the chemistry will be right. I'm curious about the person waiting for me and looking forward to meeting someone new. At the same time, I try not to overthink and to let things come to me.
The Safety
It calms me to know that everything is well organised and that my boss knows where I am in the background. That gives me a good feeling, and I can focus completely on the evening.
The Moment Before
Just before I ring the bell, I'm usually especially nervous once more. A quick check of my hair, one last look in the mirror, a deep breath. Then a smile, and off I go. I want to meet my counterpart openly, warmly and with confidence from the very first moment.
My Gentleman
I like attentive men with a sense of humour, people you can simply talk to well. Good manners and mutual respect matter to me. It's lovely when you can laugh together and both feel at ease.
What I would tell him beforehand: "I hope you can leave your everyday stress behind for a few hours, switch off and simply enjoy a lovely evening with me."
Thank you, Ariana, for this honest look behind the door. And the next time your doorbell rings, dear gentlemen, you'll know who is standing in front of it, taking one last deep breath.
Discreetly yours,
Lena
